Welcome to Observation Team Training 2015

Observation Process Trial All observations will be ungraded, new tutors will receive a developmental observation and should they need any further support/mentoring they will be re-observed after this has been completed. Written notice to be given to the tutor and Provider Manager on the Thursday of the week before the observation is scheduled, with a caveat that it is not a certainty. The tutor and observer are encouraged to contact each other for discussion prior to the observation. Observation to take place focussing on priorities raised by the tutor as well the areas specified in the confirmation letter: Personal development, behaviour and welfare. Embedded English and Maths Amount of learning taking place Assessment for learning Oral feedback to be given to the tutor where possible no grading to be given, use of language to be very specific ensuring the tutor understands all area of good or outstanding practice and areas for improvement. Report to be written and returned to Stella Tams within three days for discussion with the observer, language to be very clear stating Outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate in line with the new grading matrix. Report to be returned to the tutor and Provider Manager within two weeks with any further feedback between the observer and tutor as agreed.
