What is it??? 1.You are presenting a topic. ▫Verbal version of a constructed response:  Background, supports, explanations, and conclusions 2.This is an ARGUMENT about that topic. ▫Persuasive, well-supported, organized, formal

Topic Questions 1.Can it be considered “too controversial”? 2.Can you find research? 3.Can you support with academic research? 4.Can you identify a counterargument? 5.Can it be considered interesting or engaging for an audience?

Thesis 1.Think research paper thesis: ▫A claim that can be proven with evidence! 2.Sets direction for presentation. 3.Summation of main point, including counterargument.
