Status I gave a talk on STEP to the UCL Center for Computer Science and Machine Learning They (including coordinator of the whole PASCAL network) think it would make a good PASCAL Challenge If we want to go ahead we should send in a proposal by the end of September

Pros Free labour – maybe they solve it for us Some funding for developing automated grading of results We learn about new statistical methods We get to spend our time on all the other issues

Cons We were rather hoping to solve it ourselves It will take time to set up and might not get many participants
