Who We Are

Sport Clubs Staff O SCC Exec Board: Elected Officers from the SCC who mentor clubs, lead monthly council meetings O Office Assistant: Works in office answering questions, tracking all submitted documents, checking rosters, tracking Safety Officers O First Responders: CPR & First Aid certified students who are scheduled to work all home events

Registered Sport Clubs (RSC) O Member of Sport Clubs Council (SCC) O Student-led, student-run (President, VP and Treasurer) O Open to all FGCU students O Operate on a yearly budget O Follow SCORE System O Have CPR & First Aid Certified Safety Officers- according to risk level

SCORE System O System to recognize annual effort and work by teams O The levels determine a Sport Club’s funding for future fiscal years and a team’s status as a RSC O White –Base Level – 60 points (next year cap at $6,000) O Expected level to meet each year to maintain status O Blue –Above Average – 100 points (next year cap at $10,000) O Mid-level for recognition for more visible clubs who go beyond expected fundraising and community services O Emerald –Outstanding – 150 points (next year no funding cap) O Highest level in recognition reserved for elite teams which achieve excellent fundraising levels and are very active in the community

SCORE System Requirements O Fundraising: Clubs must match 10% of their annual budget allocation through fundraising O Community Service: Attend 1 service event per year with a minimum of 25% of your roster O SCC Meetings: Be represented at monthly council meetings O Attending Events: Attend Sport Clubs events, SCC workshops and Campus Recreation events

Officer Leadership O Being an officer is a huge responsibility O Officer positions develop transferable leadership skills O Held to a high standard O Know your resources O Professional staff, mentors, sport clubs office

Your Role as an Officer O Club Leadership O 2.5 GPA, 9 credit hours (6 for grad students) O Enforce SCC policies and rules for team O Adhere to ALL deadlines O Turn in all required forms O Player Forms O Practice Requests O Rosters O Travel Forms

Player Forms (Pink and Yellow) -Player Conduct Form -Liability Waiver -Emergency Contact Form O Must be filled out by every member of the club on the first practice or by 9/30. O Bring blank ones to practices/tryouts O Must be turned in to the Sport Clubs Office. O Players are not permitted to practice/travel if forms not on file.

Team Travel O Travel Forms O Due one week prior to trip via EagleLink O If submitted less than a week before: only eligible for reimbursements O Late Form: reimbursements are not permitted O Missing Form: purchases will be canceled (hotel, car rental, etc.) and reimbursements are not permitted O Emergency Contacts O Take with you on all trips

Accident & Incident Reports O What do you need to report? O Location: on campus, off campus or during trips O Event: accident/injury or incident between students, visiting teams, club members, or spectators - at any FGCU related event O Call or - we want to hear it from you first!

Risk Management O Copies of cards must be submitted to Office by 9/30 O Certifications can be obtained through Campus Rec, O Risk Level Two O 2 safety officers O Risk Level Three O 2 safety officers O and coach certification or 1 additional safety officers O Risk Level Four O 2 safety officers O and coach certification or 2 additional safety officers

Risk Management O First Aid Kits O Available for checkout from office O First Responders O For all home events O Athletic Trainers or EMTs O For higher risk home events

Concussion Policy O Baseline ImPACT Testing O M Lacrosse, Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, Wrestling O Post-Injury Testing for All Clubs O Managing an Injury O Remove the athlete from play O Keep the athlete out the play until a *qualified physician* gives written clearance

Anti-Hazing Policy O Hazing: O Any action or situation which recklessly or intentionally endangers the safety of a student as a condition of membership O National Hazing Prevention Week O September 21-25
