Pe Lesson plan – physical activity By: Katie Keegan and Ashley Koose

National association for sport and physical education(naspe) Standard 1: Students demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities. Standard 2: Students demonstrate understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities. Standard 3: Students participate regularly in physical activity. Standard 4: Students achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. Standard 5: Student exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.   Standard 6: Students value physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

KINDERGARTEN ACADEMIC STANDARDS FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION Motor Skills and Movement Patterns: Students demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities. Standard 2 Movement Concepts: Students demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities. Standard 3 Physical Activity: Students participate regularly in physical activity. Standard 4 Health-Enhancing Physical Fitness: Students achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. Standard 5 Responsible Personal and Social Behavior: Students exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings. Standard 6 Value of Physical Activity: Students value physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

Intasc standards Standard 3 – learning environments The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement and learning, and self motivation. Standard 8 – instructional strategies The teacher understands and uses a verity instructional strategies to encourage learns to develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.
