Eid is a three-day holiday to mark the end of Ramadan, a special occasion to fast for up to 30 days. Eid is an Arabic word meaning ’festivity’, while fitr means 'Conclusion of the fast’ and so the holiday the conclusion of the thirty days conclusion of dawn-to-sunset fasting. It is haaram, of forbidden to fast on Eid, so we use a recommended small breakfast preferably the fruit date before attending the special Eid Prayer.
