Bolivia September 2008 “Working together for the children”

Goal To influence into Government of Bolivia for the development of children under five, to become a policy of the Bolivian State. CHILD DEVELOPMENT IN MALNUTRITION ZERO PROGRAM

IDEAS – ACTIONS P ublic Presentation of results of the successful experience of incorporation of Child Development Community component of the National Program of the Ministry of Health and Sports "Malnutrition Zero." Event presentation of successful results of the importance of Child Development in nutrition programs with Health Authorities, OG's Education and NGOs. Discussion and analysis of results of a comprehensive approach children in community-based programs with government authorities.

RESULTS 50% of the population has some kind of commitment in development. Lessons learned “The delay in development does not kill “ One of the major constraints in the country to know the real situation of children around their development, it has not made a baseline, possibly because measurement instruments-Scale Development-are not appropriate nor are contextualized. “What we see is not what most worrying" Local governments invested in construction and asphalt, parks, avenues and bridges, because "that" meets their political commitments and is demonstrably in the short term.

Conclusions Make advocacy for child development is difficult but not impossible, the only way to achieve this is showing results and arguing that the strength of change is in the same communities.
