Family Dr. Seuss’s real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel and he was adopted by Theodore Robert and Henrietta Seuss. Theodore was born in Springfield, Massachusetts Theodore and his father was German.

College Theodore went to Dartmouth College.Theodore wrote for a magazine called Dartmouth Jack-o- Lantern editor-in-chief. His wife was Helen palmer he married he in 1927.

Adult Life During World War II, Dr. Seuss wrote Design for Death. He worked for an animation department for the U.S. Army. For awhile he wrote many political cartoons.

Books Dr.Seuss published 44 children books all filled with imaginative characters the books have rhyming words. Dr. seuss wrote many favorite books such as : If I Ran the Zoo,(1950) Horton hears a who,(1954) Horton hatches the egg,(1954) If I Ran the Circus,(1956) The Cat in the Hat,(1957) how the Grinch stole Christmas,(1957) and Green eggs and ham(1960), One fish two fish red fish blue fish Dr.Seuss books were made into 11 television 3 movies and 1 Broadway musical and 4 T.V. series.

Death Dr. Seuss died of throat cancer September 24, 1991 he had years of poor health he died in San Diego, California and his ashes were scattered and on December the library at UCSD was renamed Geisel Library he was 87 years old when he died.
