Cadastre and Land Registry Expert Group Work Plan Implementation Dr. Bozena Lipej Dr. Bozena Lipej Toledo, 14 November 2005

C&LRExG BACKGROUND (1)  covering the needs of EG member organizations (geodesy, topography/cartography, cadastre, land registry);  in EG an ExG is a working body dealing with specific professional issues;  facilitating EG to become a key player for geographic and land information in a pan-European context;  following the strategic goals of EuroGeographics to become the leading supplier of cross border reference information (topography, cadaster) and to establish effective partnerships with bodies in the European geographic and land information market – several organizations in function;

C&LRExG BACKGROUND (2)  visioning to develop C&LRExG as dynamic and flexible response body for the issues on cadastre and land registry;  raising awareness on cadastre and land registry issues and attracting new members to join EG;  long term ambition: becoming a driving force in the European real estate arena with the means of relevant and reliable results, value added non-competitive cooperation, partnerships, lobbying at the EU/European level, raising professional profile and awareness – dependent on engaged members with the same perspective;

WORK PLAN IMPLEMENTATION  the aim of activities is to contribute to the establishment of NSDIs, national and international financial and land markets, support sustainable development and good governance;  work plan adopted on the 1st meeting of the C&LRExG in Paris 1-2 March 2005 (34 delegates from 21 countries);  core team support, guidance and monitoring;  support of the EG HO, especially of Nick Land;  C&LRExG membership: EG members, other skilled and interested professionals from public and private sector, universities....  relevant C&LRExG information available on EG Web page;

CONT (2)  4 main work items:  project/sub-group: development of an information resource for cadastre and land registry for the purpose of benchmarking – Pekka Halme;  project/sub-group: development of a new vision statement on cadastres and land registries – Peter Laarakker;  project/sub-group: role of the cadastral parcel in INSPIRE and national SDIs with impacts on cadastre and land registry operations – Julius Ernst;  a platform/forum for information and best practice exchange and synchronization with the cadastre and land registry key players in Europe – the start will be demonstrated tomorrow

CONT (3)  + an agreement on internal usage of the same terminology;  an excellent development was achieved on all three projects;  many professionals were engaged, not only from the EG membership organizations;  the EG management support on the last GA was very positive;  the next GA expects promised results with great interest and demand;  the European real estate environment, including real estate key players, observes what role the C&LRExG will play in reality;  HOW? WE ARE THE ONES TO CREATE THE ANSWERS!
