ECAL maintenance 2Yu. Guz 2015/02/18 There were 22 non operational cells at the A side, because of 3 dead CW. The access was desirable, and granted from 27-Jan. Few dead cells at the C side were fixed too. access ECAL LEDs

HCAL maintenance 3Yu. Guz 2015/02/18 The access gave us a possibility to work also on HCAL: fix one dead cell side A; in order to study the PMT degradation problem, modify magnetic shielding in a part of PMTs (66 pc, only new ones, installed in 2014) the idea was to try to reproduce the ECAL situation in electrostatic configuration – isolate the PMT glass from ground add insulator (plastic tape) between the steel and the µ-metal shields remove rubber O-rings which are slightly conductive Need to re-run the 137 Cs calibration before physics data taking HCAL LEDs after the intervention GND O-rings (conductive) µ-metal shield contacts to ground GND conductive O-rings removed wrapped with plastic tape no contact to gnd

ECAL and HCAL DCS 4Yu. Guz 2015/02/18 ECAL Both DAQ and HV are configured via the new SPECS (ecspecsa01 / ecspecsc01). works well, with both SpecsServer and CAT – a great success!!! Patrick and Clara continue debugging, to achieve perfection HCAL DAQ and HV work via old SPECS. the 137 Cs source control and readout of integrators are migrated to linux (V. Kudryavtsev, BINP) the hcdcs02 node (an old SuperMicro 1U box with old Specs master, running SLC6) is used for both sides. The SLC6 version of SPECS driver for old masters works fine (Patrick) two services are supposed to run on hcdcs02, “IntSrvRO” for the readout of the PMT DC currents during data taking “CsSrv” for the source control and integrator readout both communicating via DIM (for control via DCS) only one of them can be active at a time. integrated into DCS: the HCDCS project was created by Clara in December contains panels for source control and status display no FSM for the moment (not supposed to be run by a shifter) both communicating via DIM fully operational (the source run on 06/12/2014 was performed with this system) there is room for improvement of interface etc in case of migration to new SPECS masters, the 137 Cs control may require a dedicated SPECS node (to be tested).
