A glance through history of Giorgio Armani S.P.A. Founded by Giorgio Armani and Sergio Galeotti in Milan in 1975 with a capital of $10000 A manswear label at first, he introduced a womenswear line soon after. Armani achieved his international breakthrough by tailoring for many Hollywood stars, especially for Richard Gere in his film American Gigolo (1980). Unlike many fashion labels which are held by multi-nationals, Armani is still in the hands of Giorgio Armani.
