Changing Your Case Password And a few other words about IT Security
All Case accounts must change their passwords For security reasons, your Case password now has an expiration date; it will have to be changed every year A log of your past 5 passwords will be kept, preventing you from re-using them. (You can’t just toggle between a few passwords)
Not All Passwords Are Linked Case Single Sign-On, Case , Case Calendar, etc, are all the same Password Your MSASS computer accounts, personal computer accounts and non- Case web accounts are separate

Change Your Saved Passwords! Many programs save your password for you and will not sign in with the new password until you remove the saved password! Every day you log into things with OTHER accounts - these passwords won’t change.
MSASS Passwords don’t change If your MSASS password is different than you case password: no change If it is the same, it will now be different, you can keep it that way or choose to change it so they match.

To Make a Long Story Short If new password doesn’t work somewhere, try your old one Clear cache and saved passwords wherever possible - if nothing else you’ll know which password is which
Why are we doing this? The longer you use a password, the more likely it is to become compromised Relying on computers to remember our passwords for us results in a possible security hole - whoever can get to your desktop can use your saved passwords
Never your password There is no way to change your password or verify your account. is insecure, sent more like a postcard than a letter - Case will never ask for your sensitive information via , and no one in IT EVER needs to know your password
How Passwords Work Passwords are double-blind. IT can’t tell you your password - we can’t see it. We can only re-set it if it is forgotten Forgotten Case passwords can only be re-set via the online form or via ITS (not MSASS IT) - call if you forget your password for Case resources
