Modes of Communication, Drama and the Arts Dr. Robbie Ergle

Essential Questions  What are the parts of an effective lesson?  Where can teachers find resources for lessons and teacher development?  What are the three modes of communication?  How can teachers use drama and the arts to increase student learning?

Effective Teaching Principles   Look at these videos.  What is the teacher doing in the videos?  What are the students doing in the videos?  What did the teacher do BEFORE the lesson?

Students Can Re-Tell Stories  Shows comprehension  Vocabulary  Creation of “new” story in their words  Using Language in meaningful context  (Tompkins, 2011)
