Bell Work: 11/21/13 Write the names and functions of the organelles below:

Challenge Questions You have discovered a new single-celled organism. It has a cell wall, ribosomes, and long, circular DNA, but no nucleus. Is it a eukaryote (an organism with eukaryotic cells) or a prokaryote (an organism that is a prokaryotic cell)? Explain. A certain virus attacks the mitochondria in cells. What would happen to a cell if all its mitochondria were destroyed?

Objectives Identify and describe the function of the major plant and animal cell organelles. (SPI ) – Cells Checkpoint & Review – Study tools: Cell Intro. notes, “How is a Cell Like a School?”, cell drawings, cell organelle foldables

Exit Ticket: Needs & Gots On a Post-It Note, write down one new thing you learned about cells and place it on the Gots board. If there is still anything you “need”, post it on the Needs board with a separate Post-it Note
