 The Indian rhino is a one of 5 types of rhino.  Like other rhinos there endangered.  There closest relative is a horse or a zebra.

 They mostly live in zoos, but wild Indian rhinos are found In India and Nepal.  Where they live its either a grassland or swamp.  In their grassland or swamp they require trees and muddy water.

 A baby rhino no matter what kind, it is called a calf.  Baby rhinos stay by their mother very closely for the first few days of its life.  When they are born they weigh about 150 pounds.

 At first they drink their mothers milk.  Then they start eating leaves and branches but they might try carrots or apples.  After about 2 or 3 years the Indian rhino can take care of it self.

 They are almost extinct.(died out.)  Poachers break laws and kill Indian rhinos for their valuable horns.  Not a lot of Indian rhinos live in zoos around the world. A dead Indian rhino: right.

 They usually eat branches or leaves sometimes, aquatic plants.  They are herbivores or vegetarians (don’t eat meat)  They also might also try fruits or vegetables
