The name of my tribe is Seneca tribe. The meaning of Seneca is ‘’People of the mountain. Seneca is pronounced [Seh-neh-kah]

The Seneca clan c ouncil chosen by the mothers [FEMALE LEADERS] Senecas were also subject to the decisions made by the Iroquois Great Council. Today there are 3 Senecas bands in new york.Each one with its own government,laws, police, and services, and some Senecas live on the six nations reserve Canada.

 The Seneca clan speaks more then one languages. There main languages is Seneca language. They also speak English today. They teach there kids english and the Seneca language is endangered because its not being taught as mush as english.

 The Seneca's past was very normal because they did the same things as us today.They played with dolls, Lacrosse, cradleboards. Lacrosse cradleboards

 The Roles of the females were to take care of family,property,and farming. The Roles of the men were to take care of hunting, trading, and war.
