Why I am doing this project? Big gap between countries using IT in their education systems. Saudi Arabia has the infrastructure and necessary resources to overcome this problem. Available IT is not being used.

Project Outline Project definition –I–Identify reasons for limited IT use in Saudi Arabia. –I–Identify challenges to better utilisation Project Plan –I–Identify existing work –C–Conduct surveys in Saudi Arabia –C–Conduct interviews with key people

Existing Work –Many articles have been published on e- learning and IT in education. –They concern challenges or problems. –Older studies on developed countries. –Newer studies on developing countries. –Some surveys.

Surveys Preparation Apply for ethical approval from the relevant authorities. Prepare two kinds of survey. Implementation Different universities in Saudi Arabia. Different geographical areas. Two Surveys for: –T–Teachers –S–Students

Interviews Outside universities Communication companies Educational organizations (eg. National e-Learning Center KSA ) Inside universities Administration Technical support During survey Data that cannot be obtained in a survey. After survey To verify and build on data collected by survey.

Timetable

Conclusion This research will help universities to work on some IT application difficulties in Saudi Arabia universities, especially in developing countries. In the future, I would like to work on finding solutions to IT challenges in the education sector.
