Ground Water Notes

I like science. Water Table The spaces between the grains are filled with air. The spaces between the grains are filled with water.

(Aquifer)

Pores – the spaces in between rock particles Permeable – materials that allow water to pass through them easily. Ex. sand and gravel Impermeable – materials that water cannot pass through easily. Ex. clay and granite Ground Water Notes

Saturated Zone – the pores in the rock or sediment are completely filled with water. Water Table – the top of the saturated zone Unsaturated Zone – the pores in the rock or sediment are filled with air. Aquifer – Any underground layer of rock or sediment that holds water. Ground Water Notes
