What data can be held on a computer? Personal data / files: 1.Bank info 2. address and passwords 3.Bank passwords and wage info. 4.Documents 5.Photos 6.Music 7.Video 8.Contacts Work: 1.If you owned a business and you had to do files and paper work it all could be on your computer. 2.You school work

What can go wrong with files / data? Hardware failure 1.You could lose all of your files and have none of it on a back up one. Accidental file deletion. 1.You could lose a lot of work and could lose personal info and it would be hard to get tit back. Theft. 1.You could get your computer taken by someone and all your personal info could be seen by other people that you don’t want them to see. Fire, flood, accidental damage. 1.Could lose a lot of you computers and hard drives and lose all of your back ups. Catastrophic virus or spyware infections. 1. File deletion during operating system upgrades. 1.

What a back up is and how this could prevent you losing all of your stored data forever. A back up is where you back up your work, so you just don’t save it to your computer or hard drive you save it to a USB stick and it to your self. So you have two or three places that you have saved your personal and work to so in case you lose your hard drive have it taken by someone or have just lost it.

What do school do? Central back up Explain what this is and how this works: 1.The Central Backup Service provides world-class data backup, restore, disaster recovery and backup administration services to the Harvard Medical School community utilizing centralized backup hardware located in the IT supported data centres. What are the benefits of this? 1.The school haves a back up which means they have all of the pupils work and personal info and will have it all in a IT room where all the hard drives will be and locked so no one can get to them.
