Autobiographical Collage Big Semester Project English 9
What is an autobiography? An autobiography is an account of your life written by you. It may be a snapshot of your life from a limited time, for instance, 10 or 15 years, or a very thorough view of who you are and may cover your entire life. It reveals things about your character, interests and experiences, etc.
Project Details Only I will view your project, so feel free to be candid. You will use PowerPoint to complete assignment. You need to include items outlined on the following slides. Project will be due TBA. Spend at least 1 or 2 classes a week working on this assignment. This project must be completed to get credit for this course. Only QUALITY work will be evaluated. Lousy work will not be marked and an “I” will be assigned for the course.
I Am Unique
What to Include in Your Autobiographical Collage Slides 1 to 3 Interesting title slide that reflects something special about you and your life. Name: first, last, middle, nickname. Do any of your names have special significance? If yes, why? Don’t say “No” as all nicknames have a source. Include a photo of yourself on one of these early slides and then add others as needed. You can digitize them (scanner).
Slides 4 to 6 Foundation Where have you lived during your lifetime? Include all locations and perhaps a photo of the town or neighborhood or house(s). Who else is in your family? Briefly describe these people and your relationship with them or the relationship you’d like to have with them. What schools have you attended?
Slides 7 to 10 Favorites Provide details and illustrations for the following items. Again, use interesting graphics to add eye appeal: Color? Food? Flavor? Clothing? Hobby? Sport? Music or band? Movie? Person or hero? Teacher? Subject? Place (room, etc.)? Saying?
Slides 12 to 16 The Future What do you predict about your future: Career? Family? Appearance? Place of residence? Travel? Economic status?

It is your “outside appearance.” The inside of the bag will contain 10 more images that have been cut out EXCEPT these images are how you see yourself! EXAMPLE: You may find a picture of a tiger and put that on the outside of the bag because your friends are always saying “You are fearless.”
