For Kindergarten

A Science Notebook is a tool that we use for recording experiments, inquiries, investigations and observations. The date is at the top of the page! Student is using illustrations and words to record his observations.

Student struggling with expectations Illustration does not use the correct colors and lacks detail. Student is responding on preprinted format. Great way to begin the year, but try to keep this practice to a minimum. Words are misspelled, but still present. Date should be child generated!

Student meeting expectations Illustration uses great detail and represents accurately. Student is beginning to take ownership of what is on the page. Labels are given by the teacher. Missing the date!
