Overview

What is Fantasy Football?  Fantasy football allows fans to take an active, personal role in professional football  Increasing their enjoyment of the game.  The fan gets to create their own roster of players by drafting talent from actual NFL teams.  Leagues are usually formed with of these fans, who now become owner/managers of their own unique roster.  A draft is held, where all the league members get together with each drafting NFL players.

What is Fantasy Football?  Each team chooses a starting lineup each week.  Points are scored based on the actual performance of the NFL players (i.e. 6 points for a TD, 1 point for every 20 yards).  The team’s points are accumulated each week.  The top 4 teams will be showcased on the leader board.  At the end of the season, one owner emerges as the champion.

Who Do We Draft?  2 Quarterbacks  3 Running Backs  4 Wide Receivers  2 Tight Ends  2 Kickers  2 Defensive Teams

How Many Players Play Each Week?  1 QB  3 Wide Receivers  2 Running Backs  1 Tight End  1 Kicker  1 Defensive Team

How do I know who do draft?  I will give you every NFL team’s depth chart along with some insider Fantasy Football cheat sheets that will help you determine the players that you would like to have on your own franchise.  Your players will vary based upon personal preference and analyzing the cheat sheets.

How will we conduct the draft?  On the day before the draft, we will create a pre-draft worksheet that will allow you to choose your desired team along with a few extra players that will allow the draft to run smoothly.  The draft will take approximately 2 class periods.

How will we conduct the draft?  We will have a predetermined draft order based upon a quiz/test grade.  Each team will have 60 seconds to draft their desired player, by informing me of their selection. Once a selection has been verbalized, the selection will be written down on the board and the next franchise will choose their player.

How will we conduct the draft?  The draft is an extremely long and somewhat tedious procedure.  It is imperative that I have everyone’s full attention and cooperation during the draft.  If a particular team become uncooperative, I will end the draft for that team. If I end your draft, I will then select players for your team.

When do we select our starting line-ups?  Each TUESDAY, you will be required to submit a starting line-up to me. Once your line-up is submitted you MAY NOT change your line-up.  If you fail to submit a line-up, your line-up from the previous week will be used regardless of injuries or bye weeks.

How do we know when our team scores points?  Tuesdays will be our designated fantasy football day.  Every Tuesday you will research your fantasy team’s statistics using ESPN.  You will then analyze each of your player’s stats, create a spreadsheet, and calculate how many points each player received during their football game.

How Do We Keep up with Scoring?  You will create a spreadsheet that keeps track of your weekly scoring. I will also keep track of a spreadsheet with everyone’s scoring – to ensure that cheating is not occurring.

So, are we only playing Fantasy Football now?!  Absolutely not. Tuesday’s are the only days that we are looking at stats, analyzing data, calculating points and planning our next steps.  All of the other days we will be learning more about Marketing and planning the details regarding out Fantasy Franchises.
