The 5 th Pillar Hajj –Pilgrimage To recognise Hajj as the 5 th pillar of Islam To describe what Muslims do on Hajj To explain what Muslims learn from doing the Hajj 1.Mecca is where Abraham built the Ka’aba (his “footsteps” can be seen) 2.The Qu’ran says that Abraham was told by the angel that everyone should go on pilgrimage to the Ka’aba 3.The Black Stone is there (Muslims believe it was given to Adam & Eve and Abraham by angel) 4.Mecca is where the Prophet Mohammad* was born & lived & where his grave is, so it is special for Muslims Why would Muslims want to go and visit the Ka’aba?
