What was Columbus’s Journey like? Activity You are Christopher Columbus. What was it like sailing the seas for 71 days? How did it feel when you made it to land? What was life where you landed? Write journal entry detailing these events.

What is the difference between the “New” and “Old” World? Activity Observe and look at the two maps. The first one is of the “old world” aka the world as it was viewed before Columbus discovered the Americas. The second map is the map we use today. Using a double sided journal format, compare and contrast three major differences of the new and old world.

What is special about the “New World”? Activity You’re a “big-shot” in the world of advertising and marketing. You need to convince the King and Queen of Spain that the New World is a great investment. In your group you will create a brochure advertising the New World.
