Dream Your Biggest Dream Our Dreams can become reality. Genesis 11:1-9

The Tower of Babel Our text is often called the tower of Babel. What were they building? What was wrong with their plans? God saw some things that were causing rebellion among the people. God made FOUR OBSERVATIONS

1 - The People are One Notice: Not the peoples are one. People – singular – one unit There are not 10,000 individuals There is one unit under consideration

1 - The People are One How can 60 or 70 at Cades be ONE? Genesis 2:24 – husband and wife Ephesians 5:31-32 – Christ and the church 1 Corinthians 3:6-8 – Paul and Apollos John 10:30 – Father and Son

2 - Their Language is One Context – They all spoke the same language – God confounded their languages – This is what caused them to scatter Figuratively in the NT – We are not robots – We do not think or talk exactly alike – BUT – we do have the same goals, aims

2 - Their Language is One 1 Corinthians 1:10 – “that you all speak the same thing” Philippians 1:27 – “be of one mind” Romans 12:16 – “be of the same mind” Romans 15:5 – “like-minded” Philippians 2:2 – “of one mind” Philippians 3:16 – “mind the same thing”

2 - Their Language is One When two or more of us are of one mind: – Matthew 18:19 – we can agree in prayer – Matthew 18:20 – we assemble together – Matthew 18:20 – our Lord with among us

3 – Nothing will be Restrained If man has the will (drive, desire, ambition): – Nothing will hold him back – He can get it done – Remember the children’s story – Little Engine that Could – “I think I can, I think I can.” – Are there any believers here today?

3 – Nothing will be Restrained God has given us the ability to do many things – Fly to and walk on the moon – Send HD television (picture and stereo sound) to a satellite and back to my house – Find cures, develop medicines, new diagnostic tools – Computers, cell phones, Internet – How long a list can you make?

4 – Which they Imagined To Do If it can be conceived – it can be achieved! Dream and see them become reality We just need to dream BIGGER dreams God is bigger than our dreams, goals, ideas Ephesians 3:20 – Now to Him that is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Conclusion: God wants us to be ONE. We must be of one MIND. God gave us the ability to ACHIEVE. We can accomplish what we DREAM. Make sure your plans and dreams are also God’s plans.
