Presentation transcript:

What is a roller coaster? A roller coaster is a fairground attraction that has a light railway track which has many tight turns and steep slopes on which people ride in small, fast open carriages. They are made from steel or wood. The roller coaster is a favourite ride of thrill seekers, and has evolved from when it used to be a huge slide.

What is the worlds biggest roller coaster? The Goliath - the world's tallest, steepest, fastest roller coaster. The latest attraction which opened at Six Flags Great America on Thursday is a wooden roller coaster that breaks three world records. Those brave enough to take a ride on it will be plunged down a 180ft near-vertical drop, as the roller coaster twists and turns at speeds of up to 72mph.

What was the first roller coaster Experts argue about the first roller coaster ride. Some suggest that ice slides in 17th century Russia qualify. Others claim an 1812 French ride that had cars locked onto a track is the first true version of the ride.

What are the top 5 scariest roller coasters in the world? 5. Iron Rattler, San Antonio, Texas this roller coaster is part wood, part steel, it is the first of its kind to flip passengers with a terrifying barrel roll. 4. Kingda Ka, Jackson, NJ, it goes at 125 miles per hour and goes 456 feet into the air only to freefall down the other side and more! 3. Wicked Twister, Ohio, the world’s largest suspended-impulse coaster looks like something out of a nightmare. 2. Formula Rossa, United Arab Emirates, Don’t blink or you’ll miss it. This is the fastest roller coaster in the world — covering 1.3 miles in 90 seconds. 1. Takabisha, Yamanashi, Japan, Not for the weak of heart, this ride has a stomach-turning 121-foot drop, which is the steepest in the world.

What roller coasters have I been on? I have been on two roller coasters, the Storm Coaster and the looney tunes roller coaster, (I forgot what its called)
