Grandpa and Ben by Lynette Gleeson

Ben’s come to play with Grandpa, With his big blue bag of toys, The engine and the train track, A favourite of the boys.

Grandpa and Ben are busy, Putting the tracks into place, Lining up the little engine, With a round and smiley face.

There’s passengers at the station, Who arrived in the big red bus, Ready for the morning trip, Waiting, without a fuss.

A puff of smoke and a loud toot toot, Brings the passengers to attention, For chuffing into the station, Are the carriages behind the little engine.

Carefully rounding all the bends, Ben and Grandpa take them, On to a great adventure, Safely to their destination.

When the busy day is over, And the tracks are packed away, Ben dreams of little engines, Toot toot! Chuff chuff! …..another day.
