What’s Your Disability I.Q.? §Take 10 minutes to answer these 15 True/False Questions.

HOW DID YOU DO? §1. No - But remember that a temporary disability can become permanent. §2. No - If you are anxious because of job stress, ADA doesn’t protect you. §3. Yes - Be careful about expressing your perceptions. §4. No - You can do it if you want to, but the law doesn’t require it.

How Did You Do? §5. No - Leaves will usually be covered under FMLA. §6. Yes - Include this requirement or you could be faced with accommodating with fewer hours. §7. Yes - But the employee quickly becomes uncovered if he/she falls off the wagon.

How Did You Do? §8. No - You are required to look at the institution’s total resources. §9. Yes - If the employee is out of accrued leave, you don’t have to pay. §10. No - 2.8% §11. No - Americans are most comfortable with people in wheelchairs.

ADA 101 §Signed into law July 26, §Prohibits discrimination against any “qualified individual with a disability.” §Qualified individual defined as someone who can, either with or without reasonable accommodation, perform the essential functions of the job.

ADA 101 §Individual has a disability if (s)he: §has a physical/or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity §has a record of such impairment, or §is regarded as having such an impairment.
