Dell Supply chain Management

Introduction Dells success relies on the fact that it has a unique supply chain. Through the chain, it is able to get the needed information from the clients and pass it to the suppliers. It also ensures that a close relationship with the customers is maintained through the use of a direct sales model.

Information flow in the supply chain Exchange of information is a key internal process in the organization Makes use of the customer-supplier loop and the sales- procurement-supplier loop. Organization uses collaborative tools that make use of modern technologies. Has a sophisticated online access. Makes use of oracle products to ensure that the flow of information is as expected.

Flow chart Get product supply enough stock? Engage in sales Place the order to get supplies Sell to the needed customers Direct sales model Identify customer needs

Process matrix Establish the right process matrix to use in measuring the supply chain A good example is the benefits measure The use of process metrics can be effective in identifying the progress of the components, discovering the various areas that need more attention and also taking note of the areas that need more resources depending with the needs of the customer
