HEAVEN Academy at Capel Manor College

What is HEAVEN? H Horticulture. E Environment. A Animal care. V Vocational. EN Enhancement.

Who is it for? For 14 to 16 year olds from local partnership schools in Enfield and Hertfordshire

What are our aims? To teach Horticulture, Environmental studies and Animal Care as vocational subjects

How are we Funded? We are funded by the LSC as part of the Increased Flexibility Project

What do we offer? Level 1 Certificate in Horticultural skills tests. BTEC first diploma unit accreditation from each subject

Resources Horticulture: 37 acres of parkland and theme gardens. Poly-tunnels and practice areas for student activities. Work on and around the estate on ‘Real' jobs.

Resources

Environment studies: Access to Forty Hall farm and environmental centre. Natural ponds and woodland areas. Stock control fencing and hedges.

Resources

Animal Care: Small animal unit and exotic reptile room. Animal stockyard with Kune Kune pigs, rare breed goats, Rabbits, fancy ducks and chickens.

Resources

Events and exhibitions HEAVEN Academy students have taken part in the Skill City exhibition at London's Docklands and have built ‘Ground Force’ style gardens at the college activity days.
