Worth seeing places in Warmia and Masuria

Wild Nature Park in Kadzidłowo Wild Nature Park in Kadzidlowo is located in the Puszcza Piska (the largest forest complex of the Masuria region). Location in forest meadows allows existence of animals in conditions similar to the natural. Most of the animals are tamed and therefore it visitors can do feeding, petting and admire up close. Due to the vastness of the land and its nature, exploring the Park takes place only with guides who talk about each individual animal, their biology, habits and the need for protection. It may refer to rare endangered species, such as the lynx, wolf, eagle owl, black grouse, capercaillie, hazel grouse.

Patron of the Park is known naturalist and patriot Benedykt Dybowski, who exiled to Siberia contributed to the knowledge of the nature of this part of the world.

Masurian Landscape Park Masurian Landscape Park is a protected area in northern Poland, established in It covers an area of square kilometres in the Masurian Lake District. The Park contains the biggest Polish lake called Śniardwy, with an area of km 2, together with lakes of Kaczerajno and Seksty. Other bigger lakes include Bełdany, Mokre, Łuknajno, Mikołajskie, Warnołty and Zdrużno. There are also over 20 smaller dystrophic lakes in the Krutynia river basin.

Within the Landscape Park are 11 nature reserves, including that of Łuknajno Lake, a Ramsar site also designated by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve due to its unique bird habitat.

Krutynia River Krutynia is a river of Masurian Lake District in Poland, a tributary of the Pisa. Canoe trail runs from the Mokre Lake, through Puszcza Piska and Masurian Landscape Park. Most famous part of canoe trail begins in Sorkwity and ends in Ruciane-Nida. It flows through 20 Masurian lakes.

The Krutynia is one of the most famous waterways, repeatedly referred to the "most beautiful canoe trail in Europe". Current of the river, with numerous bends, is actually slow. Width of the river reaches 30–40 meters and depth is from 1,5-2,5 to 3–7 meters.

Pofajdoks Pofajdok - a common folk name used in the Warmia and Masuria, meaning a young, single man of irresponsible, mock and immature approach to life. The figure was the personification of folk humour but also simple human wisdom. Pofajdoks always go their own ways but they are still helpful and friendly.

There are 13 small sculptures of Pofajdoks, who are representing various profession, for instance: a lumberjack, a robber or a firefighter. Visitors can follow the trail of Pofajdoks in our city Szczytno.
