History of Nitrogen Nitrogen was originally discovered by a Scottish chemist, Daniel Rutherford, in 1772. Scotland today mainly produces: Fur, Textiles, Metals, and Metal works. Nitrogen is found in the air and is obtained by cooling, pressing and expanding air and then you get liquid nitrogen.
Uses of Nitrogen You experience nitrogen everyday whether its in the air you’re breathing or using it as fertilizer for food and plants.
