Regional Factors ◦ Altitude Higher altitudes usually mean colder temperatures ◦ Bodies of Water Water warms up slower than air, but stays warm longer ◦ Mountain Barriers The west side of mountain ranges tend to be warmer and experience more rain. The eastern side tends to be drier and cooler.
