 Regional Factors ◦ Altitude  Higher altitudes usually mean colder temperatures ◦ Bodies of Water  Water warms up slower than air, but stays warm longer ◦ Mountain Barriers The west side of mountain ranges tend to be warmer and experience more rain. The eastern side tends to be drier and cooler.
