Roman Sculptures Arch of Constantine Augustan Ara Pacis Sculptures are usually three dimensional figurines of a real item or idea. Many Roman sculptures are copies of Greek art. At one time this was frowned upon by the Greek as being a lack of imagination on the part of the Romans. By the 20 th century the Greeks were surprised to have found that many of their art may have been taken from the earliest Roman culture.

Roman Paintings Romans painted directly onto the walls of their homes making painting one of the earliest forms of roman art. Many Roman paintings have deteriorated due to time. Such paintings have turned into myths or legends passed down by many generations of Romans.
