Ephesians 5: Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

3 Things to be intentional about #1) He tells us to make the most of the opportunities coming your way! Ephesians 2:10 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 5:16a 16 making the most of every opportunity

3 Greek words to refer to time 1) HORA- is usually translated “hour” 2) CHRONO- from which we get our English chronological refers to time in general (measured time/ a period). 3) KAIROS- which refers to an appointed time, a fixed or specific occasion Hebrews 2:3a NKJV 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation,

3 Things to be intentional about #2) Understand what the Lord’s will is “Understand” in Ephesians 5:17 carries the idea of assembling facts into an organized whole- taking all the bits and pieces of information and making sense of it all “Understand what the Lord’s will is” what is God’s will for MY life. Romans 8:29 “...to be conformed to the likeness of His Son”

1 Thessalonians 4:3 It is God’s will that we should be sanctified Salvation- 1 Timothy 2:4 Self Sacrifice- Romans 12:1-2 Spirit Filling- Ephesians 5:18 Submission- 1 Peter 2:13-15 Suffering- 1 Peter 3:17 Satisfaction-Ephesians 5: Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all things for this is God’s will for you New living bible translate Ephesians 5:17 “Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what God wants you to do”

3 Things to be intentional about #3) Be filled with the Holy Spirit “Do not get drunk on wine” The Holy Spirit is power -Power that needs to be reverence -Power that needs to be honored -Power that needs to be protected

Summary In summary we should live intentionally of 3 things Make the most of every opportunity God gives us Understand what the Lord’s will is, with the kind of understanding that produces a willingness to obey And let us be filled with the blessed Holy Spirit
