Creator/ Maker/ Artist: Name: Pelton, Ingrid (birth) around 1945 Country/ Location: San Rafael, California, USA Other: Prolific amateur quilter who has donated hundred of quilts to local businesses in California and international charities. Creation Date: Circa: 2005

What is the history of this quilt? “Many Moons” was created by the artist in 2005 and donated to the newly opened assisted living facility, Alma Via of San Rafael (AVSR) in San Rafael California. The artist’s mother was a resident of this facility and Ms. Pelton donated over 25 art quilts between 2005 and 2009 for display and sale in the building. After Ms. Pelton’s mother passed away, Ms. Pelton continued to support AVSR as a volunteer and though quilt donations. This quilt hung for two years in the first floor of the residential facility, near a cluster of resident’s rooms. The quilt was so well liked that it was later moved upstairs to the third floor, where it hung directly outside of the main resident dining room for two years. The quilt was purchased by a former employee of AVSR, Leah Tenney, in 2009 and has since been displayed in her home.
