Can kill thousands of people and can damage thousands of homes and businesses. For all who survive are probably do not have there homes now.

They are usually on the coast lines of every continent with a few exceptions. We don’t always know when they are going to hit but we have a pretty good idea about it. The meter that reads the information will look like this

An earthquake starts when the tectonic plates move away or collide in to each other. The plates force themselves to move. The earths crust reacts in one way or another.

Well when an earthquake hits it usually they try to have a evacuation plan but if not… then get under something and hold on tight to the object.

Chile in South America had one last year it was a 8.8 on the rector scale. It happened on February 27, died because of this natural disaster. Haiti had one last year on January 12, Magnitude on the rector scale. Its estimated that about 230,000 people died because of the earthquake.

More earthquakes Northern Sumatra, Indonesia had one in May 9, It was a 8.7 on the rector scale. 62 people did die. On Friday October 8 th in Alaska, Andreano Islands had a 6.4 Earthquake. It killed 20 people.
