Presentation transcript:

1.Write down the number as a fraction. 16 in x= 1

2. W rite the units you are trying to cancel out on the bottom. 16 in x= 1 in

3. Write what you are trying to get to on the top. 16 in x cm = 1 in

4. Find the conversion equation. Often in a Table. 16 in x cm = 1 in LengthVolumeMass to Weight imperial tometric 1 foot [ft] = meters 1 mile = km imperial tometric 1 fluid ounce = ml 1 gallon [gal] = liters When on the surface of the earth mass/9.8 = Force, which can be converted to lbs imperial tometric 1 ounce [oz] = g 1 pound [lb] = kg 1 inch [in] = 2.54 cm

5. Put the numbers from the conversion into the equation. 16 in x 2.54 cm = 1 1 in

6. Cancel out the units and do the math. 16 cm x 1 in = cm 6.30 in

For tonight I would like you to practice problems 2-6 Tomorrow we will see how it went and decide how much more practice
