 Nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers are hungry.  How do you feel when you are hungry? HUNGER IN NEW YORK CITY 2

WHAT DOES CITY HARVEST DO?  City Harvest is the world’s first and New York City’s only food rescue organization.  Where does City Harvest get the food?  How much food will City Harvest rescue this year? 3

WHERE DOES THE FOOD GO?  What is a soup kitchen?  What is a food pantry?  Where else does the food go? 4

HOW DOES THE FOOD GET TO PEOPLE WHO NEED IT?  Has anyone seen a City Harvest truck?  How many trucks does City Harvest have?  How much food can the trucks hold? 5

 Some people give food, and some people give money HOW CAN YOU HELP CITY HARVEST? 6

TRUE OR FALSE?  City Harvest helps feed the nearly1.4 million New Yorkers who face hunger each year. TRUE  Nearly 1 in 4 children in New York City don’t know where their next meal is coming from. TRUE  1 dollar can help rescue and deliver 1 pound of food. FALSE 7

HOW CAN YOU HELP THIS OCTOBER? Every coin counts! Engage your community as you fight hunger. Ask friends and family for donations to Truck or Treat. If you do go out trick-or-treating to collect candy, also collect coins in your City Harvest truck collection box to help feed hungry New Yorkers. 8
