What is a Calorie??? A calorie is a unit of measure that indicates the amount of energy we obtain from a particular food. The scientific definition of a calorie is the amount of energy, or heat, it takes to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius.

What is a Calorie?? A calorie is put into your body through three different types of building blocks Carbohydrates 1 gram of Carbohydrates = 4 Calories Proteins 1 gram of Protein = 4 Calories Fats 1 gram of Fat = 9 Calories Overall, 3500 calories = 1 pound of fat.
What do Calories do?? The number of calories in a food is a measure of how much potential energy that food has. So if you know how many carbohydrates, proteins, and fats that are in any given food, you know how many calories, or how much energy, that food contains.
How many calories does our body need? Everyone has heard of 2,000 calories per day That is just a rough average. It depends on height, weight, gender, age, and activity level

Is a Calorie just a Calorie? A calorie is just a calorie when we are talking about weight. A calorie of fat, protein, or carbohydrate is all the same in the aspect of strictly weight. They are all units of energy. If you burn more than you take in, you will lose weight.
