Linguistic Lab RAFAEL POMBO SCHOOL

THE LINGUISTIC LAB IS A VALUABLE TOOL FOR DEVELOPING LISTENING AND SPEAKING SKILLS IN OUR STUDENTS

Objectives To train students on how to use headsets and microphones in order to improve self study. To help students focus on developing oral proficiency in the foreign language, and also to create stimulating classroom activities. To develop appropriate communication styles for a variety of situations. They should be able to detect opinions, attitudes, intentions of the speakers and moods in spoken and written English.

LAB USE AND POLICY General Rules The Linguistic Lab should be used with consideration for the needs of others and in ways that maintain a comfortable and functional work environment. To that effect, users are requested:

What to teach in the English Lab Aspects of Language: semiotical, situational, contextual, pragmatical, cognitive, sociolinguistical, cultural. Types of Language: local, formal, informal, popular, usual, solemn, familiar (sayings and proverbs), related to press and television, poetical, humorous, etc.
