My Teaching Philosophy Practice, Practice, Practice All children can succeed We learn by doing and we move forward from our mistakes Read, Read, Read

My Teaching Philosophy Children learn by doing Children will be children, I help guide them toward making good decisions during the school day.

The Heart of my Classroom Rules Raise your hand to speak Listen while others are speaking Keep our classroom tidy Use kind words and actions

Expectations "If we did the things we are capable of, we would astound ourselves." ~Thomas Edison

Child/Parent Responsibilities Support and guide your child, don’t do it for him or her. (Backpacks, homework, snacks, etc) Show mom and dad what you can do on your own. Always remember: No harm has ever come to a child who forgot their homework, folder or library book. (The first few times)

“StudentSpeak” Translations I don’t know what to do!

Student Means I don’t feel like doing this right now, so I have an idea! Why don’t you just do it for me?

Student Says… She didn’t tell us what to do!

Student Means Actually she did tell us what to do, but there may be a slight chance I wasn’t listening. So why don’t you just tell me now?

StudentSays… This is too hard! (AKA) I don’t get it!

Student Means… I would much rather be watching TV right now. So why don’t you tell me to do it later, or better yet, why don’t you just do this for me?

Student Says… I don’t have any homework.

Student Means… Please don’t look in my backpack.

My Mission for your Child I will do my best each day to give your child relevant knowledge, the courage to try new things, the curiosity to seek new answers and the ability to be the best they can be. And I plan for us to have a lot of fun in the process! “People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing". ~Malcom Forbes

Thank you for coming this evening!
