Placing the sensor on flat plate collectors

Optimal sensor attachment Yes! Sensor is placed inside the collector, under the glass Not advised! The sensor does not penetrate the collector. * Will not work on drainback systems.

Sensor placement instructions Step 1: With a 15/64” sharp drill bit, carefully drill alongside the hot-out connection and insert the solar control sensor for better protected temperature sensing.

1.Drill sensor hole through grommet (illustrated on previous slide) 2. Sweat on plumbing connection 3. Lubricate drilled hole 4.
