How should we select our KDC groups?

The Overview What groups are there? What is involved in being in each group? What role do the individual members play? Get ready for some serious thinking!!

Guiding Questions What does ‘essential skills and desired qualities’ mean? What does team ‘leader’ really mean? Could YOU be a team leader? What do you have in common with our school leaders; world leaders; etc.? How do you demonstrate these qualities?

Strategies we’ll use 1:2:4 Y-chart Venn diagram

Some background clarification Q. What is a task analysis? In your teams use a 1:2:4 strategy to clarify what is involved in each activity, the materials needed and any pre-skills that are required. Write it out clearly. Go Shopping to collect some ideas from other groups. Then return and refine your own.

The Task Devise Action Plans for your Groups’ tasks / brief. Re-visit the design criteria and determine when and how your task is required. Present your action plan to your group leader. Discuss and revise roles and time frame.

Team Self-Regulation?? Let’s assume that your team is going to be sensational. What could be the criteria for an analysis of your efforts e.g. –Degree of initiative / creativity? –Level of listening? –Amount of engagement?

Team analysis - Reflection, Group Conference and Team Liaison Brainstorm on your team’s efforts with a 2Q –Q. 1. What did we do well? –Q. 2. What could we have done differently? Now, revisit your criteria, and critically evaluate your work by responding to each of those criteria Congratulate each other on your work!!
