Objectives of GSE Vocational & Cultural Experience Promote World Peace & Understanding, One Friendship at a Time Opportunity to serve as Ambassadors from D7570, and represent our communities and vocations Opportunity to discover Humanitarian Grant Projects 2013 District 7570 DTTS

D7570 and GSE The Rotary Foundation provided funds for 1 GSE team in every district D7570 provided funds for an additional GSE team using DDF Beginning July, 2013 The Rotary Foundation is no longer supporting GSE. D7570 will pay for GSE teams using DDF 2013 District 7570 DTTS

What’s Needed? 5 – 6 areas with a host club 4 – 5 host families in each area Recruit team leader Recruit team members 2013 District 7570 DTTS

Duties of Host Clubs/Areas Teams are in your area 4-6 days One host family for each incoming team member Provide private bedroom, breakfast, lunch and supper (teams usually eat out at club meetings, receptions, and while sightseeing) Provide laundry facilities Provides transportation to GSE Activities 2013 District 7570 DTTS

GSE Activities Teams provide 2-3 Rotary programs in each area. Can be combined into a single area-wide program Team members have full day of vocational activities related to their particular vocation or interest Have 1 free day per week to shop, rest, do laundry Sightseeing – local attractions, businesses, government offices, visit schools 2013 District 7570 DTTS

Nominate Team Leader Team Leaders: Should be a “Seasoned” Rotarian Demonstrated Leadership Skills Familiar with D7570 –Current or former club officer or board member, active on committees –Attended district conference No age limit, but physically capable of keeping up with younger team members 2013 District 7570 DTTS

Recruit Team Members From local community Must be years of age Must not be Rotarians or related to Rotarians Well along their career paths and interested in exchanging vocational interests with overseas hosts District 7570 DTTS

GSE Schedule in Outgoing Schedule  Team leader applications due August. 31, 2013  Team leader interviews Sept. 15, 2013  Team member applications due Sept. 28, 2013  Team member interviews Oct. 13, 2013 Outgoing team to D9670, Australia  Depart ROA: ~ March 22, 2014, return 30 days later Incoming teams from D9670  Arrive ~ March 1, depart 30 days later 2013 District 7570 DTTS

Caveats GSE is no longer a program of TRF Our district can change rules concerning age of team members, length of exchange, etc. Information in previous slides is subject to change 2013 District 7570 DTTS
