Workshop Fall 15 Open Human Interface Device Lab & High-Performance Database Research Center Presents: Fall 15 – Parallel Programming Theme Francisco R. Ortega, Ph.D. Welcome

Who am I? My Name is Francisco R. Ortega You can find my site at – Franciscoraulortega.com Workshop’s site (for now) – FranciscoRaulOrtega.com/workshop Lab’s Site (Coming soon – next week maybe) – Openhid.com

Who am I? Expertise and Interest – 3D User Interfaces – 3D Navigation – Human-Computer Interaction – Input Devices – Gesture Recognition Formalism – Gesture Recognition – Artificial Intelligence – Parallel Programming – Framework Design and Development – C++ – GPU and GPGPU

Why are we here? To exchange ideas and topics Increase knowledge Get to know each other Collaborate And more…

How would this work? Each semester, we will have different topics. FALL 2015: Parallel Programming – Almost every Friday Day 2-4pm – It may go until early next year. Spring 2015: 3D User Interfaces, HCI, and Computer Graphics. – Almost every Friday 10-12pm. Summer? – Not sure.

What are we going to cover During fall, we will primarily cover parallel programming topics. We may have some additional topics (e.g., computational geometry, computer graphics…) We will switch gears next semester (as soon as we are dong with SPP)

Useful books

Let’s get to know each other Tell us who you are why you are here What are your interest What would you like to get out of this workshop What ideas do you have to make this better Anything else you want to let us know.
