PROS AND CONS OF ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS

Romantic Relationships Romantic relationships, particularly significant, long-term ones, engage people mentally, emotionally, physically, financially and even spiritually. They also, often, play a substantial role in people’s social experiences (Floyd, pg 319).

1. Romantic Relationship The most meaningful element in some people’s lives. A desire that is built between two people. Pleasurable feelings from an emotional attraction. Having the ability to live longer, healthier and happier lives.

2. Support System Having a shoulder to cry on when in need. Being able to make work or personal life decisions comfortably. Getting help mentally, physically, emotionally or financially. Being confident in choices you make.

3. Happiness Getting appreciation and knowing your appreciated. Sharing secrets, laughs and memories that you cherish. Spontaneous outings such as; dinner, movies, bowling, dancing. Being yourself and having acceptance.

4. Additional Points of Views/Advice I believe it’s very important to be mentally and emotionally ready for a romantic relationship. Your not only caring and thinking about yourself anymore, you always have to consider another person’s feelings and wishes. Be honest with yourself first and always be honest with your partner. Make sure your good friend’s with the individual and get to know them well first to assure the compatibility is there. Have realistic expectations. Don’t sweat the small stuff!

1. Communication Lack of communication. Speaking too much. Speaking out of anger. Being unclear of what you have to say. All of those thing can be a leading cause of ending the romantic relationship.

2. Indifference in views and interests Financial responsibilities. Family doings Goals Going out Meals Sports

3. Insecurities Being lied to by your significant other. Having to experience infidelity. Witnessing Suspicious activities. Secrets being kept from you or keeping secrets.

6. Stress Constantly arguing. Being financially unstable. Focusing on your partner more than yourself. Having different views on things Sexual frustration

Conclusion Starting and staying in a romantic relationship will be a lot of effort. Being on the same page and having understandings will help a lot and is a great foundation to start and remain with. If you feel you don’t have the time or commitment to be involved with anybody, make sure you get where you want to be in your life and ready mentally and emotionally. There are many ups and downs of romantic relationships but its depends both of you to choose your path and how smooth and easy going you make it for yourselves!
