INTRODUCTION

 Time table is an abstract object with no real existence but can control the way the college carries its everyday activities.  The timetable describes the movement of staff and students through out the week.  The task of creating college time table has always been a difficult one.

Problem Definition Generating time table and calculating term work marks manually for each department is very time consuming and tedious process. Students also face a tough challenge of maintaining their attendance. So our proposed system overcomes this problems by automating these tasks.

Scope This application is design for college and students. It allows:  To reduce human efforts that required while generating the time table manually.  Efficient allocation of classrooms and labs.  To calculate term work marks of students.  Effective interaction between Student & Teachers.

Automatic Timetable Generator  Time tabling is the allocation of various resources. It describes the movement of staff and students through out the week. It may be thought of as a set of meeting.  For generating timetable automatically one has to focus on various constraints and aspects. These constraints are mainly classified as: 1. Hard constraints 2. Soft constraints

o Hard constraints: Have to be taken into consideration strictly. Eg: one teacher can not be in two places at once. o Soft constraints: Usually impossible to satisfy all, hence some of them can be avoided. Eg: capability of teacher to handle two or more consecutive classes.

Time table generator accepts various inputs like college timing, academic and staff details. Based on all these inputs and constraints it generates Timetable automatically.

Term work marks calculator  Term work marks can be calculated based on attendance, journal grades, term test marks of student.  This calculator facilitates calculation of term work marks of student by accessing the student’s database.  Hence term work marks calculation is just one click away.

Attendance Sheet Planner  This module provides solution for such kind of defaulter/blacklist.

This module fascinates Teacher to do following: Maintain Student’s attendance details. Generate Defaulter list. Inform parents about attendance of student.

Attendance Sheet  This attendance sheet can also be uploaded on student portal.  Student gets day to day attendance details through this student portal.

Student Portal

 Student can access his attendance, term work information uploaded by staff.  Can download assignments, notices and other study materials.  Manage Library Account.

 Easy to use: Simple and straight forward operations with proper GUI.  Hardware requirement is less.

Cons  Human Factors: The scheduler is not able to fit in constraints related to human factors like fondness and weakness of stake holders namely teachers and students.  System Failure: Application will stop working if system fails.
