How to Use the Alexandria Researcher Professional Development

What is Alexandria? No! Alexandria is not a person, although you may see me talking to her at times :-). Alexandria is the Automated Cataloging System that is used for cataloging and locating resources in the Library.

Do you remember these?

Alexandria is the New Card Catalog! That’s right the Alexandria Automated Cataloging System is the NEW card catalog! Alexandria can be used to find materials in the library the same way a card catalog can be used.

Alexandria Researcher You can find print, audio, and video (DVD) materials that are in the library by using the Alexandria Researcher. This is our school’s digital card catalog.

First You Click on the Alexandria Researcher Icon

You will get a page that looks like this:

First type in the general topic for which the research project is about in the box that says search. ➜ Greece For this presentation I chose Greece Then Click: Search ➜

This is what you will get:

Decide which book would best fit the topic of your research Once you have located the Dewey Decimal Number you can locate the book in the library.

Let’s go for a walk: Click on the video.

Congratulations! You found the book that you need. #Librarian#Book# Selfie
