+ #1 Object/Function (OF) Scissors : cut :: shovel : dig Hand : grasp :: teeth : bite The first part of the analogy is a noun and the second part of the comparison is a verb. The verb is something that the noun DOES, which makes it an OF analogy. Can you come up with one?

+ #2 Part/Whole (PW) Crab : claws :: elephant : trunk Ounce : pound :: cent : dollar Both parts of the analogy are nouns. The second noun is part of the first noun, which is the whole. Can you come up with one?

+ #3 Antonym (A) Add : deduct :: ascend : descend Fast : slow :: interesting : boring In an antonym analogy, the two items being compared are opposites of one another. Can you come up with one?
